Planting
At planting, apply your first application of NG Organic Plant Starter, repeat application in 3 to 4 weeks to encourage root establishment. This will also increase microbial action, bringing the soil back to life. It helps reduce watering, storing of nutrients and increases yields. May be used until gone.
Apply HY Vegetable & Ornamental Insect Control if you have cutworms or grubs.
Blossoms
Blossoms may start to grow, but don’t start forming a fruit. Apply to flower, ferti-lome Tomato & Pepper Set. Make at least 3 applications 7 to 10 days apart. It’s not just for tomatoes!
Fertilizer
Apply ferti-lome Tomato and Vegetable Food or ferti-lome Gardeners Special, repeat monthly or as needed. These helps increase root growth, plant size and yields. Get more from your vegetables!
Fungus – Blights or Bacteria
To prevent fungus and bacterial issues, apply NG Copper Soap, make 2 or 3 applications 7 to 10 days apart.
To prevent only the fungus, apply ferti-lome Broad Spectrum Fungicide, make 2 or 3 applications 7 to 10 days apart.
Worms or Caterpillars
For worms or caterpillars on vegetables, apply the natural product, NG Spinosad or NG Spinosad Soap RTU. Make 2 applications 4 to 7 days apart.
NG Spinosad Soap is also effective on; aphids, flea beetles, spider mites, ants and more.
If a dust is preferred, use ferti-lome Dipel Dust and reapply as needed.
General Insects
A good natural choice is ferti-lome Triple Action. This is neem oil and is an insecticide, fungicide and a miticide and kill almost all stages of insects.
If someone wants hard chemistry for many insects, (not that effective on worms), apply HY Lawn, Garden, Pet & Livestock Spray or Garden, Pet & Livestock Dust. These two are much safer on bees than Sevin®.
Weed Control
If weed control is wanted, start in the spring and apply HY Herbicide Granules. If you are working, it into the soil reapply every 6 to 8 weeks. If you are just sprinkling on the surface and watering in, reapply every 4 weeks.
